Big Picture: Sports are a fantastic experience for kids to learn about teamwork, character, competition, success, and even failure. Sports are only one aspect of life, but can sometimes dominate the lives of kids and families.
Purpose: The purpose of Eastland Sports Organization (ESO) is to teach kids the fundamentals of sports, foster healthy competition, and prepare kids to be Eastland Mavericks in a faith- based environment.
Structure: One of the challenging things with youth sports is the struggle to keep up with all the changes in start dates, where to sign-up, practices, and organization of independent leagues. Through Eastland Sports Organization, there will be cohesion on registration, sport start and stop dates, background checks for volunteers and practice regulations for teams. These are among the few benefits of ESO. Volunteers will run each league, but ESO will oversee the league. Each league will also vary on its post-season, depending upon outside affiliations. Eastland Sports Organization is an extension of First Baptist Church of Eastland, but it is built for the entire Eastland County community to experience, participate in, and support youth sports.

-Flag Football (1st-6th grades: Fall season)
-Volleyball (1st-6th grades: Fall season)
-Basketball (K-6th grades: Winter season)
-T-Ball & 6U League (3-6 year olds: Spring season)
-Softball 8U-14U (1st-8th: Spring season)
-Baseball 8U-14U (1st-8th: Spring season)
Local Partnerships: Eastland Sports Organization seeks to partner with individuals and families, local businesses, local non-profits, and local churches to facilitate the growth of youth sports in the community of Eastland.
Faith-Based: The way Eastland Sports Organization will integrate faith and sports will be simple. We will pray before and after games and periodically offer optional faith huddles throughout the season where parents and kids will have the opportunity to hear about Jesus. While ESO is a faith-based ministry, all kids are invited to participate.
